Light photos

As promised, here are the photos.

1: The bike

The black box under the crossbar is the power supply.

2: Beam shot number 1

The bins in the picture are 15 metres away.

3: Beam shot number 3

In this picture the bins are 22 metres away and a little downhill and out of focus.

In my next post I will put up details of the power supply kit and what the modifications that were made to make it run off 40V.

Jeremy - I have just read your whole blog with tremendous interest. I too am considering commuting to Melbourne CBD from eastern suburbs but I will need "help" to get there and back each day. I have formed the same conclusions re purchasing - EV look fine, and it is great they do a QA before courier to you. Pricing looks fine also. I have some questions ... can you purcahse a carrier for controller and battery rather than buying? Do you find your balance while riding OK with rear wheel motor? Would you purchase the same products again or another range/supplier? Thanks for your interesting blog. Peter Ellenby

I have been quite happy with the setup so far. The failures I have had have all been mechanical, broken spokes, freewheel, bottom bracket etc. The balance of the rear wheel kit is indistinguishable from a normal bike. I would buy the same motor and battery again. I am thinking that whoever sells the battery will have a carrier for it that may also suit the controller. The Crystalyte kits all come with a moulded plastic box that appears to contain both the battery and controller inside the main frame, but who knows how strong they are.
